Article types
Australian Voice welcomes contributions from Australian and international authors. We accept research, theoretical, philosophical, practice, and review articles, short forum contributions (such as studio notes, discussion pieces) and book reviews. Articles must be original and have not been published elsewhere.
IMPORTANT Authors new to the journal (and particularly early career researchers, PhD and Masters students) are strongly encouraged to contact the editors prior to submission to discuss whether their manuscript is a good fit for the journal.

Forum contributions and book reviews should be 1200 -1500 words.
All submissions must be in MS Word format, or another open-source text format.

Additional required files
Please submit a cover letter as an additional file. In your letter, please disclose any potential conflicts of interest and note any ethical approvals.
Please submit a separate title page with identifying information, including name, title, insitution (where relevant), ORCID, and contact details.
Although submissions for the 2025 issue are now closed, please contact the editors to negotiate an extension.
Editorial and Peer Review Process
Once your manuscript is submitted, provided it meets the Aims and Scope and is of sufficient quality, it will be sent to two reviewers. Upon receipt of reviews, you will be notified of the editorial decision: accept, minor changes, major changes, or reject. We ask that our reviewers complete reviews within 30 days and that authors return any revisions in a timely manner.
Publication details
Once a final decision has been reached to publish your article, you will be required to be available during the copy-editing and proofing phase. All accepted articles will be published online as soon as they have passed through the review process, with the print edition to be finalised at the end of each year.
